(NO CASH ACCEPTED). FALL Learning Center classes begin Monday, September 10, 2012 and end Friday, November 30, 2012. Classes are 11 ses<strong>si</strong>ons, unless otherwise noted. The Fall registration deadline is August 24, 2012. INTERSESSION 2013 classes begin January 7, 2013 and end February 8, 2013. The IN- TERSESSION registration deadline is December 21, 2012. All registration must be received by mail only. UFT retirees will be registered first before spouses, domestic partners, AFT, NYSUT & PSC members. Please note: We cannot check to see if we received your registration. 1. COURSES You may register for only three courses. However, you may register for seminars, NYSUT Defen<strong>si</strong>ve Driving, trips, theater and dine-arounds in addition to your courses. There will be a NON-REFUNDABLE REGIST - RATION FEE OF $5 for each course. Write one check/money order for courses. 2. SEMINARS You M UST register for all seminars to guarantee seating. Seminars have a NON-REFUNDABLE REGISTRA- TION FEE OF $2. There is no fee for benefit seminars (e.g. anuity workshops, legal plan and health benefits). Write one check/money order for seminars. 3. TRIPS You may register for up to five trips. Do not add a registration fee. The price shown is the complete fee for each trip. Refunds are made upon written request up to four weeks prior to trip date. Write one check/money order for each trip. 4. THEATRE EXPERIENCE There is a NON-REFUNDABLE REGISTRATION FEE OF $5. All checks/money orders for theater <strong>program</strong> must be made payable to the UFTWF Retiree Programs. 5. DINE AROUNDS There is a NON-REFUNDABLE REGISTRATION FEE OF $5. All checks/money orders for dine arounds must be made payable to the UFTWF Retiree Programs. Refunds are contingent upon policy <strong>of</strong> the vendor. Details outlined at orientation ses<strong>si</strong>on. 6. TO REGISTER • Each registrant must complete a separate registration coupon for Fall 2012 and Interses<strong>si</strong>on 2013 with name and last four digits <strong>of</strong> social security number. Spouses are wait listed and therefore checks/money orders are not required. • Each registrant must pay with his/her own checks/money orders. MEMBERS CANNOT PAY FOR OTHER MEMBERS. Make checks/money orders payable to UFTWF RETIREE PROGRAMS and enclose payment with the registration form. Include on the checks/money orders the course number exactly as it appears in the course description section. • Write a separate check/money order for $30 payable to UFTWF Retiree Programs for NYSUT Defen<strong>si</strong>ve Driving. NB: View Si Beagle <strong>of</strong>ferings online at www.uft.org/chapters/ retirees/<strong>program</strong>s, then scroll to bottom <strong>of</strong> page to view the Si Beagle and download coupon to send it in for registration. 7. Your course selection coupon will be stamped and returned to you in the mail. You must remember to bring the coupon to every ses<strong>si</strong>on your course meets. It will serve as your admis<strong>si</strong>on card. If a green “ENTERED” is stamped over a particular course, seminar or trip you have been admitted. If a red “COURSE FULL-WAIT LIST”, “SORRY, TRIP FULL” or “SORRY, SEMINAR FULL” are stamped over a particular course, seminar, or trip you will not be admitted and your name will be put on a wait list. Refunds will be issued in approximately <strong>si</strong>xweeks. Retirees who are on wait lists will be notified <strong>of</strong>course openings by the Borough Section Coordinator(s) according to date received. 8. Queens and Manhattan retirees: UFT ID cards will be mailed with registration confirmation. You must <strong>si</strong>gn these ID cards and present them to enter the building. 9. All Learning Centers’ classes do not meet on the following days Rosh Hashanah : Monday, September 17 and Tuesday, September 18. Yom Kippur: Wednesday, September 26. Columbus Day: Monday, October 8. Election Day: Tuesday, November 6. Veteran’s Day: Monday, November 12. Thanksgiving Recess: Thursday, November 22 and Friday, November 23. Martin Luther King Jr. Day: Monday, January 21. 10.We reserve the right to cancel any course that has fewer than 12 students registered by the first ses<strong>si</strong>on. In such cases, we will notify all registered students and issue full refunds. New courses, seminars and trips are added periodically in our Learning Centers. These are exempt from the threecourse maximum. Look for announcements in the RTC column in each issue <strong>of</strong> the New York Teacher. KEEP THIS ISSUE!
