When focusing on the main objectives, Spelunky is about 20 Hours in length. If you're a gamer that strives to see all aspects of the game, you are likely to spend around 94 Hours to obtain 100% completion.

There are 94 levels that the player must beat to reach the 3rd and final ending of the game, culminating in 7-99, where a Constellation is created. 7-98 is the final level of gameplay; 7-99 is where the Special Ending takes place and is displayed as the final level in the Run Recap screen.

That playthrough was true misery. Regardless, the game's only appropriate for teens, with graphic, albeit cartoonish violence coupled with graphic descriptions upon death (Every single bone in my body was crushed.) and a bit of smooching. However, I wouldn't recommend this in the slightest.

Spelunky is hard, but the difficulty level is perfect. So you've been coasting through triple-A FPSs on easy mode. You've completed point-and-click adventures with a walkthrough open on your lap, and one time you even got an achievement for watching the intro cutscene in GTA IV.

Hell is the secret fifth and final area of Spelunky HD, comprising levels 5-1 to 5-4. Here the player can make their way to the ruler of Hell found in 5-4; King Yama. Defeating King Yama will give the player the opportunity to complete the game the harder way and achieve the hard ending.

Spelunky was a commercial success, selling over one million units by 2016. The Steam launch was noted to be particularly successful by Derek Yu, with 61,408 units sold within the first week, and 577,185 units throughout the game's lifetime.

Is this game harder than the first one? Yes. Level generation is far more denser, and there are enemies which really demand for you to pay attention.

Xbox Game Pass Games Leaving in July 2023

Spelunky 2 was one of the highest-rated games of 2020 and so it's particularly sad to see it getting removed from the Xbox Game Pass lineup, but anyone that has yet to play the highly-reviewed game likely still has a couple of weeks to try it out.
